Works in progress, where I share what I'm working on and what I'm thinking about, and also show my Instagram feed. 

playing around in my sketchbook with a new palette from @theartofsoil that was discounted because the rounded paint pods prevent the lid from closing completely. That will be an easy fix -- I'll  use the pigments until they're flush with the palette

Sketches are great ways to practice seeing, drawing and recalling. The flaws and mistakes always appear glaringly obvious to me, but I'm usually glad I spent the time making something, flaws and all. This sketch is based on a view at Toadstool Geolog
It's great to know that my paintings arrived and are now on display in Dhaka, Bangladesh as part of the @artinembassies  program. Along with the letter, here is a detail shot of "In the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve," a 12x30" painting on

The next day, Elisa again met us at the house to lead us to the Poas Volcano, a beautiful mountain  where we walked to see the crater and saw and smelled the vapors emerging from below. Then we hiked to the lake that has filled another crater and had a good hike back to the visitors center.
