This morning, a two-man crew from U.S. Art Co. built boxes to hold two of my paintings headed to Bangladesh as part of the @artinembassies program. Safe travels!

What to do when traffic is very light in your studio during the @hotshopsartcenter open house? Start new work of course!

Pulling stuff out that I honestly forgot about like this: Pinions, a 20x20” oil painting on canvas. Added to the discount display in my studio. Pop in during the @hotshopsartcenter open house this weekend. I’ll be here Friday until 7ish a

Light on the Platte River #1, a 30x30" painting on wood panel

Bemis auction

November 11, 2015

Light on the Platte River #1 is one of the more than 250 pieces in the upcoming Bemis auction, a fundraiser and arts appreciation event Nov. 21.  I strolled through the galleries this afternoon and was pleased to see my painting hung in one of the galleries near the entrance. Staff members were putting the finishing touches on the exhibit and several told me I was the first visitor. I guess I let my curiosity and excitement show.

In past years, this event has brought together some of the region's top artists, work from professional artists local to international, collectors and the curious in one of Omaha's leading art parties. This year, several regional artists from among those accepted into the auction will be selected for an exhibit at the Bemis in 2016.

There are several free preview events leading up to the auction. Info is posted at bemiscenter.org.
